Dual Grants for BRISEA: BRISEA Secures CSIT and NJEDA Support for Advanced Environmental Technologies

BRISEA Group Inc. is proud to announce a momentous double victory as the recipient of two distinguished Pilot Clean Tech Demonstration Grants. Awarded by the Commission on Science, Innovation, and Technology (CSIT) and the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA), these grants underscore BRISEA’s commitment to advancing sustainable solutions and pioneering groundbreaking technologies. The CSIT grant, funded by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU), supports clean technology businesses with existing prototypes that are ready for real-world validation.

BRISEA’s first awarded project focuses on the development of a revolutionary microwave-enabled air filtration system in collaboration with Professor Wen Zhang’s research group of the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). Leveraging technology recognized by the 2019 EPA SBIR Phase I award, the 2022 Thomas Edison Award, and the 2022 NJIT TITA Seed Grant, the project aims to address the limitations of conventional air filters by targeting viral aerosols like COVID-19, flu, and RSV. The prototype has demonstrated an outstanding removal rate of up to 100% for airborne viruses. This positions the microwave-enabled air filtration system as a leader among 12 different commercial air purification technologies.

Simultaneously, BRISEA’s second awarded project, also in collaboration with Professor Wen Zhang’s group, centers around nanobubble technology in irrigation. Building on prior successes with grants from the USDA and EPA, BRISEA has developed prototypes that demonstrate positive effects on plant growth, water and nutrient delivery, and pathogen control. The Pilot Clean Tech Demonstration Grant will enable BRISEA to validate the cost-effectiveness of nanobubble-based irrigation in local New Jersey farms.

“We are truly honored to receive dual recognition from CSIT and NJEDA, highlighting our commitment to innovation and sustainability. These grants will propel us forward in advancing nanobubble technology in the field of agriculture and in revolutionizing air filtration systems to protect public health,” stated Ms. Yuhong Jiang, CEO of BRISEA Group Inc.

Both projects align with the goals outlined in New Jersey’s Energy Master Plan (EMP) and contribute to the state’s efforts towards clean energy innovation. BRISEA remains dedicated to driving positive change and creating a sustainable and resilient future through cutting-edge technology.
